2 min read

We learned some time ago that Xiaomi is preparing to introduce several more flagship phones. One of them will be the Xiaomi 12S Pro, about which we will learn more details today.

It was recently revealed that this phone would be powered by the as-yet-unveiled Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus chip. Now information is coming that the phone will be available in another version with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chip, which would mean that it will be the first Xiaomi flagship phone with the MediaTek chip.

Xiaomiui reports that the phone with the Dimensity 9000 chip appeared in the IMEI database with model number 2207122MC. Qualcomm stated that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus had been postponed for the year’s second half.

It is speculated that the Xiaomi 12S Pro could be introduced soon, and the question is whether the phone will be shipped with a Qualcomm chip at all. Either way, the Dimensity 9000 is a great chip and could worthily replace the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus.

The Dimensity 9000 comes with a Cortex-X2 core running at 3.05 GHz. In addition to this ultra-impressive main core, the chip features three Cortex-A710 cores clocked at 2.85 GHz and four energy-efficient Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. Graphically, the chip comes with a Mali-G710 GPU with 10 cores.

The rest of the specifications are expected to be identical. It is stated that the Xiaomi 12S Pro will arrive with a 6.55 ”AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

On the back, the phone should have three cameras in a combination of 64 MP (main sensor) + 8 MP (ultra-wide sensor) + 5 MP (macro sensor). At the same time, there will be a selfie camera with a 16 MP sensor on the front.

The Xiaomi 12S Pro will reportedly be powered by a 4500 mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. Out of the box, the phone will come with Android 12 and Xiaomi’s MIUI 13.
