As part of a new experiment, the company will recommend external moderation apps, as an added measure that users can use in addition to pre-existing tools built into Twitter.
With this update, Twitter will recommend several side apps, when a user wants to block or silence another person. For now, the Block Party app has been added – a tool that allows users to automatically block accounts that have the potential to be a source of harassment. There’s also Bodyguard, which automatically edits responses, as well as Moderate, which edits @mentions.
The mentioned tools were already available, but users had to search for them in order to configure them. Now Twitter will suggest them itself, along with its tools for blocking and muting users.
