AMD wants to rule the DDR5 memory market

AMD’s Raphael processors, based on the Zen 4 architecture, are expected later in the year and will support DDR5 memory. They are aimed at gamers, enthusiasts, and standard PC users and it is expected that the new platform could compete with Intel Raptor Lake CPUs, which also support DDR5.

At the moment, DDR5 memory speeds are still far from the promised 10,000 MT/s or more, as announced by the manufacturers. However, AMD suggests that we could see those speeds with Raphael processors.

It is not known how AMD plans to achieve this goal, but it could include RAMP (Ryzen Accelerated Memory Profile). This is AMD’s response to Intel XMP 3.0 technology.
