Last summer, TikTok began beta testing the Effect House platform, which allows users to create their own augmented reality filters that can be used within the app. The TikTok program now allows anyone who wants to participate in it.

The platform has also published guidelines, with details regarding the Effect House function. Among the filters that will not be allowed on TikTok are those that promote plastic surgery. For example, it will not be possible to insert effects that allow the user to see what his face will look like with lip fillers and the like.
TikTok points out that the company’s “Trust and Security Team” will review all the effects that users report to ensure that they comply with the terms of use before they are approved. Users can also report filters themselves, which should make the company consider them.
