Telegram beta testers have noticed something new in version 8.7.2, and it is a new group of stickers and reactions via emojis, which can only be unlocked by subscribing to Telegram Premium.
Telegram Premium, of course, does not yet exist. However, users within the Telegram TestFlight version and Test Server can use new emojis, such as a flying ghost, or an exploding heart, and there are new interesting stickers.
This is one of the ways in which the founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov, wants to reassure users. Last fall, the Telegram started showing advertisements, which angered both authors and subscribers, so Durov promised to find a way to reduce them. The new tests are probably the way it is planned.
With more than 500 million users on the platform, Telegram will have to convince only a small percentage of them to subscribe in order for the service to be sustainable, which is the goal of its founder.
