Microsoft Edge has gained a number of new features over the past few months that give the browser an edge over the competition. Now there is information about another feature that is under development, and it could give Edge an advantage over Chrome and Firefox.
Performance Mode will allow the user to optimize Internet browsing speed and response, as well as reduce resource use by CPU, RAM, and battery. This will be important for those who run multiple tabs with other applications or games, freeing up space to achieve the best results.

This is related to the Sleeping Tabs feature, which Edge got during 2020, which allows tabs to “freeze” when not in active use, which reduces the use of CPU and RAM.
Performance Mode is currently only available in the Microsoft Edge Canary 91 version, for certain users, but the standard version of the platform should arrive later during 2021. The feature should be most suitable for gamers and streamers, who usually have a large number of activated and open applications and tabs.
