In this article, you will read the top news and leaks about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S22. The article includes release date, lineup prices, and much more.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 lineup has recently started to hit shop shelves, and we’re already hearing rumours about Samsung Galaxy S22, and the considerations of what the company could improve for the new S22 model.
Samsung Galaxy S22 release date and price
There is not much information about the Samsung Galaxy S22 release date, but we could expect the company to follow a similar schedule to its 2021 where the company pulled forward its lunches compared to previous years.
Does that for sure means that the Samsung Galaxy S22 series will be realised in January 2022? There is no confirmation because the company could go to their default release spot which is in February or March.
A similar situation is for the price, there is not what will be the price range, but we can expect it to be around the same price as Galaxy S21 range. The Samsung Galaxy S21 starts at $799, the Galaxy S21 Plus starts at $999 and the Galaxy S21 Ultra starts at $1,199.
Samsung Galaxy S22 News and leaks
It is too early after the Samsung Galaxy S21 release to hear anything specific about the S22 in terms of what specific specs we can expect. There is a few pieces of information from a wider Samsung leaks.
For example, one leak is suggesting that Samsung is already working on its new Exynos 9855 chipset, and it is expected to be ready for the 2022 handset. There is not much to know about the chipset, but it gives an idea of the model to expect.
Samsung has confirmed that it won’t be including chargers in the box for future smartphones, so you will be expected to buy a separate charger alongside your Samsung flagship if you are not already owning one yourself.
5 IMPROVEMENTS WE WANT TO SEE
While we wait to hear more about Samsung Galaxy S22 we put together some improvements we would like to see in future series.
1. MicroSD
Bring Back microSD support. That is a simple thing and a clear step down from Samsung, as the company that has always offered microSD support in its smartphones. For those who didn’t know, the Samsung Galaxy S21 range doesn’t feature microSD support which means you are not able to expand your storage.
2. Better storage
Samsung Galaxy S22 range should offer more storage option for people to choose from. This is especially because the company decided to remove the microSD card support.
The Galaxy S21, for example, is available in 128GB and 256GB storage size. Those who want more storage will have to buy the larger Galaxy S21 Ultra.
3. Drop the price
The Samsung Galaxy S21 range dropped the price compared to 2020’s smartphones, which is an admirable feat from the company, but we would like to see the price drop further in 2022.
We are aware that’s a big thing to ask because Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has the top-end tech and it’s unlikely the company will be able to drop further the price.
With the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus the company is delivering slightly lower specs than we’re used to, we’d like to see price drop down to reflect that.
4. Avoid Glasstic
This topic isn’t something that everyone knows, and everyone cares, but the Samsung Galaxy S21 moved from a glass rear and switched to a Glasstic back. That’s Samsung’s name for a plastic and glass hybrid, but it doesn’t feel premium.
5. Increase stylus support on the Ultra
There is no need to buy a Galaxy Note smartphone to experience the benefits of a Samsung stylus, there is now support for Samsung stylus for Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Stylus experience is helpful, for those who want to have the accessory.
With that said, the S Pen isn’t as extensive as it is on Galaxy Note. You have to opt for the S Pen Pro, to get some features, which are not available yet. We are hoping in 2022 Samsung’s S Pen will be fully formed for its S series.
