The April security update for Google Pixel phones contains a line in the changelog, which indicates certain performance optimizations in graphically demanding applications and games on Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G phones.
After the update was released, Andreas Proschofsky of Der Standard described the results, which the phones are achieving, as “stunning”. In the 3DMark benchmark, the April Android update for Pixel 5 improves test results by 30 to 50 percent compared to the March update.

In addition to the 3DMark results, additional tests have shown improved stability and reliability, which means that although performance has been boosted, the phone has maintained adequate performance.
It remains to be seen whether the mentioned improvements will be noticed in real work, but the mentioned performance increase of 30-50% will certainly be noticeable in games and other applications that consume a lot of resources.
