A new flagship from the offer of the Japanese company Sony was presented today. It is the successor to the Xperia 1 III, the Sony Xperia 1 IV. Sony states that the phone brings a revolutionary camera system. What else can the Xperia 1 IV boast, and what is the phone’s price?
Xperia 1 IV Camera
Sony’s most significant focus has been given to the cameras as with previous flagship phones. So this phone has taken over some of the Xperia Pro and Pro-I features, and with adequate use, Sony states that the cameras of this phone can easily give professional photos.
The most significant improvement over its predecessor is that this phone has a telephoto camera with a variable focal length, which can be switched between 85 mm and 125 mm. That means 3.5-5x optical zoom, a big improvement over the telephoto camera on the Xperia 1 III. This sensor is 1 / 3.5 ”in size and comes with OIS and AF support.
The other two camera sensors are primary and ultra-wide, 12 MP each. The main sensor is 1 / 1.7 ”in size with OIS support. The ultra-wide sensor is 1 / 2.5” in size with autofocus support. The phone has standard photo shutters on the frame.
All three cameras can record 4K videos at 120 frames per second and bring Optical SteadyShot, FlawlessEye, Eye AF, and many other valuable features.
The front camera has also been improved, which now has a 12 MP sensor, 1 / 2.9 ”size, and it is a new ExmorRS sensor. The front camera also supports 4K video recording, but there is no autofocus at 30 frames per second.
Xperia 1 IV Display
In addition to cameras, the phone boasts impressive specifications in other segments. It has a 6.5 ”4K AMOLED screen, reportedly 50% brighter than its predecessor. The screen refresh rate is 120 Hz.
Xperia 1 IV Battery
Sony has also increased the battery capacity compared to its predecessor, so the Xperia 1 IV has a 5000 mAh battery with support for fast charging of 30 W. This charger will charge the phone in half an hour to 50%. This year, Sony decided to take the charger out of the phone box, and they stated that it was part of their “Road to Zero” policy. But Sony doesn’t even ship a USB-C cable with the phone.
Unlike the charger, which has not been available to competitors with the phone for some time, Sony has equipped the Xperia 1 IV with a 3.5 mm headphone jack, which is a commendable move.
Xperia 1 IV CPU & Memory
The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, paired with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory, while in some markets, it is also available in a version with 512 GB. Another commendable move is that the phone has a microSD card slot.
The phone has Gorilla Glass Victus protection on both sides and IP68 certification.
Xperia 1 IV Price
The price of the Sony Xperia 1 IV is $ 1,599.99.
