The day will come soon and we will finally see Sony Xperia 1 III as soon, as of April 14th. Here is what we know so far!
Sony has, without much fanfare, updated the YouTube banner of the official Xperia site to reveal that it is announcing a new product soon. Given that it is obviously a new Xperia device, there is speculation that a new Xperia 1 III will be introduced.
The company did not say what kind of product it represents, but there are rumors about the specifications for the Xperia 1 III phone.
Sony Xperia 1 III Specifications
According to these rumors, the phone will have specifications for rival leading devices of other companies. It will reportedly have:
- a 6.5-inch 4K OLED screen with a width-to-height ratio of 21: 9 and
- a refresh rate of 120Hz,
- as well as a periscope lens made by the Sony Cyber-Shot division.

The phone is said to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, the brand’s latest premium processor for smartphones, and can have up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
Other possible features include a 5,000 mAh battery, SD card space, and a 3.5mm headphone jack (please keep it).
Sony Xperia 1 III Price
The model will reportedly cost around $1,370 when converted from the Chinese yuan, which is not surprising, as the Xperia 1 II cost $1,200 at launch.
Sony Xperia 1 III Release
The inscription says that the company is launching a new Xperia product on April 14.
Since Sony used the Xperia banner on YouTube to post the announcement, the assumption is that it will likely stream the event on a video platform.
We may also see a new Xperia Compact phone, with a 5.5-inch screen, but it’s not known if this device will go on sale outside of Japan.
Sony could surprise us with some other devices as well, so we’ll have to wait for the official release date to find out what the company has in store for this year.
