On Twitter, the message search bar could only be used to search for people’s names or group chat names. Now, this has finally changed, so it is possible to search for conversations by keyword.
Good news for Twitter users who have wanted to find a specific message in the past, but simply could not. Twitter has announced that the DM search feature has received a major upgrade, so users can now search the content of their conversations by keyword.

As a reminder, so far only the names of people and the names of group conversations could be searched in the messaging section. This feature, of course, still remains available, so this is just an upgrade to existing search options.
This change has been awaited since Twitter introduced the DM search feature on Android in May 2021. It was then said, therefore, that keyword search would become possible by the end of that year, which obviously did not happen.
Finally, it should be noted that the new feature works on iOS, Android, and the web, but it seems that it is not possible to search for messages older than 2020.
