According to analyst and journalist Mark Gurman, the refreshed Apple Mac Pro could use the M2 Extreme chipset (a name the analyst believes the chip will carry). During its Peek Performance presentation last week, Apple mentioned that the M1 Ultra will be the company’s latest chip from the M1 series.
According to him, Apple will use more M1 Ultra chips in the Mac Pro, or as Gourmet claims it will be the M2 Extreme. Also, it is believed that this is one of the reasons why Apple postponed the release of the Mac Pro for 2023.
Many are wondering how Apple will approach the refresh of the Mac Pro. This is currently the company’s most modular computer and it will be interesting to see how Apple will approach this concept with Apple Silicon chips.
