Russia’s media regulator (Roskomnadzor) announced on Friday that it was blocking the social network Facebook for users from Russia.

It was announced that the cause of sanctions is “discrimination of Russian media” in 26 cases, and restrictions by orders of the Ministry of Defense, Zvezda, RIA Novosti, Sputnik in foreign languages, Rasha Tudej (RT) channel, Lenta and Gazeta portals.

Meta (Facebook) is therefore losing $ 3.6 million a day in Russia.

The company earns $ 19.68 per user in Europe, according to the data, and had 66 million users in Russia, while after the sanctions, that number is now, logically, zero.

That way, the company will lose $ 3.6 million a day due to the blockade, which is $ 1.3 billion a year.

That’s just over 1% of Meta’s annual revenue, as they earned $ 117.9 billion in 2021.
