In less than a month, the company will discontinue support for the Windows 10 20H2 version. This means that all those who do not upgrade to a newer version of the platform will no longer receive security updates.
There will be four versions of Windows 10, which will stop receiving support at the same time. These are
- Windows 10 Home 20H2,
- Windows 10 Pro 20H2,
- Windows 10 Pro Education 20H2 and
- Windows 10 Pro for Workstations 20H2.
All mentioned versions of Windows will no longer receive security updates after May 10, 2022.
Microsoft has been installing Windows 10 version 21H2 for users since the beginning of the year, and these systems will be supported for some time to come. However, for longer support, users will need to upgrade to Windows 11, which is not exactly an option for everyone given the hardware requirements for this version of the operating system.
