Xperia 10 II gets Android 12

We’ve already talked about how Sony has promised to update the Xperia 10 III and Xperia 10 II to Android 12, and after the promise for the Mark III has been fulfilled, the update is coming to the Mark II as well.

The OTA update (at least for now) seems to be limited to Southeast Asia. The update package itself is about 900 MB in size and has version number 59.2A.0.422. With Android 12 comes the March 2022 security patch, instead of the February 2022 patch that the Xperia 10 III received.

The screenshot of the update shared on Reddit further reveals that the update will not affect user data, and says users will not be able to revert to a previous version after installing the update (at least not without data loss). Of course, these are all standard things you have to agree to if you want to update.

As it turns out, this update is just another test to make sure the update doesn’t have any issues. Sony has not shared the release timeline for other regions at the moment, but of course, if everything goes well, we won’t wait long for the global distribution of Android 12 for the aforementioned Xperia 10 II.

As for the cameras, the device is equipped with a triple system, and the main sensor is 12 MP, a telephoto sensor of 8 MP, and the wide-angle also 8 MP.
