The company pointed out that the popular The Witcher franchise recorded sales of over 65 million copies. In 2022, Witcher 3 alone sold over 40 million copies, while 2020 saw sales of 30 million copies of this game.
It was expected that we would be able to see another increase in sales of the Witcher 3 game during the first half, but unfortunately, the update of the game for next-generation consoles and graphics for the PC was postponed indefinitely.
The update was previously developed by Saber Interactive, but CD Projekt Red has meanwhile shifted development within its own resources, which are now more so as work on Cyberpunk 2077 is now largely complete.
It is expected that a significant amount of resources will be directed towards the development of the new Witcher game, which will be developed using Unreal Engine 5.
