Microsoft’s latest “preview build,” for developers under Windows Insider, comes with support for the new feature.
The purpose of the function, called “suggested actions”, is simple. Once certain content is selected, Windows 11 can suggest / recommend a series of actions that can be done faster.
For example, a user can dial a phone number, after which the operating system offers a small window that pops up and initiates a call. Similar recommendations will appear for selecting a date or time.
The development of the recommended actions is still at an early stage, so there is no guarantee that this feature will be available to users in the near future. The ideas, which Microsoft is testing in its developer channel, do not have a specific release date.
The company points out that the Dev channel is mainly used for experimenting with new features, which may eventually be rejected before the official public announcement.
