The popular messaging platform plans to introduce a new feature that will improve customization capabilities for its huge user base. Currently, this iOS beta version 22.8.0.73 is only available in certain regions and has not yet reached the live build. However, looking at the pictures, we can see that this brings additional options for the drawing tool function.
WhatsApp already offers drawing tools, but the new update will extend to the tools offered to users. This new set of drawing tools will allow users to sketch images or edit them with custom notes. In the past, users had access to only one pen for basic drawing capabilities. But now, new screenshots, released by WaBetaInfo, show three new pen thicknesses, along with a new blur tool option in the new set.

These features could soon be available on the Android version of the beta app. WhatsApp regularly tests a large number of new features that eventually arrive in live-build a few weeks or even months after. Sometimes these features are also discontinued during public beta tests or modified.
As it works on the screenshot, these are actually just three more different pencil thicknesses, and hopefully, WhatsApp will also implement options such as drawing straight lines, recognizing certain geometric shapes (rectangle, triangle, circle …), and similar options that would significantly improve the experience of sketching from pictures.
