This is why Apple is giving up on the Mini model

2 min read

We have already learned through numerous reports that Apple is giving up on the Mini series and that the iPhone 13 Mini will probably be the last Mini model produced by Apple. This year’s iPhone 14 series will still consist of 4 models, and the initial one will be the iPhone 14, then the iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The reason for this decision most likely relates to the sales results, ie the fact that Apple cannot sell enough iPhone Mini models to make its existence economically justified. And now the Consumer Research Intelligence Partners report has revealed how bad sales of the iPhone 13 Mini actually were in the US

According to the report, sales of the 5.4-inch iPhone 13 Mini accounted for only 3% of total iPhone sales in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2022. In parallel, other iPhone 13 models were much more popular and had the largest sales share in the U.S.

iPhone 13 models accounted for 71 percent of iPhone sales in the U.S. in the first quarter, and the standard iPhone 13 was the best-selling with as much as a 38 percent share in that figure. The 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max weren’t as popular this quarter, but they still far surpassed the iPhone 13 Mini.

For its next series of iPhones, Apple will reportedly introduce the iPhone 14 Max which will offer a large 6.7-inch screen, equivalent to the iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, the smartphone will come at a lower price compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max and even the iPhone 14 Pro.
