The British engineer and founder of the startup, Matt Webb, demonstrated an interesting application of the ChatGPT AI model, especially since it also offers API access for developers. He, purely for fun and for his own needs, made a “smartwatch” and put it on the shelf at home in a rather rudimentary design, but even that generated a lot of interest on social networks.

Webb, in fact, programmed a tiny electronic circuit and a display connected to it to show him the time. But instead of showing the time only with numbers on the screen, this watch sends a query to ChatGPT every minute and asks it to write a short poem in rhyme for the given time, which will mention the exact time.

The result may not be the most pleasing to the eye regarding hardware and design, but the rhymes that ChatGPT puts together certainly are. Some of them surprised even the author of the watch because he says that he did not expect such a motivating and optimistic message, that is, that he did not even include such things in his “prompt” that is sent to the artificial intelligence. You can see some of the creative ways this clock shows the time every minute in the pictures we bring with the text.
I made an AI clock for my bookshelves! It composes a new poem every minute using ChatGPT and mysteriously has this enthusiastic vibe which I am totally into https://t.co/HPFyCKoXAB pic.twitter.com/eJb0QGpNmq

The author of the project shared only a few examples on social networks. Still, immediately there was great interest, so he announced that he would try to commercialize the project so that such a cute way of displaying the time would be available to more people.
