The third-generation Samsung Galaxy Fold flexible phone is expected to finally provide support for the S Pen. Over the past year, we have had the opportunity to see a large number of rumors, as well as patent applications indicating support for the stylus.
A new report from South Korea points to the structural challenges that Samsung had to face in order to implement the S Pen in the upcoming flexible phone. The original plan was to insert a slot for the S Pen in the phone, as with the Galaxy Note series, but it seems that this option is no longer relevant because the Z Fold3 will not have enough space.

Recent reports have suggested that the Galaxy Z Fold3 will be lighter and thinner than its predecessor, further reducing the possibility of adding space to the built-in smartpen. Samsung will probably opt for a similar approach as the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which also has support for the S Pen, but the stylus is purchased separately and can fit in some compatible cases.
The Galaxy Z Fold3, along with the Galaxy Z Flip2 and Galaxy S21 FE, should be introduced during the second half of 2021. The phone is expected to enter mass production during June, while it will be officially presented in the period July-August.
