The Information has been revealed within the tvOS 14.5 beta, which suggests that support for the 120Hz refresh rate could arrive on the next-generation Apple TV model. This means that buyers of new TV models will enjoy a fluid frame rate.
Currently, the latest Apple TV model supports 4K resolution, but because it uses an HDMI 2.0 port, the refresh rate is limited to 60Hz. The new model could implement an HDMI 2.1 port, which could provide support for 4K @ 120Hz.

Of course, the user’s TV will have to support a 120Hz or higher refresh rate from the start in order for the mentioned function to be used, so those who have older TV models that do not offer 120Hz will probably not be able to take full advantage of the new feature.
