Huawei organized a big event last month in China when it gave the public its first insight into its new flexible smartphone, the Mate Xs 2. On that occasion, they were also announced in the Huawei Watch GT3 Pro, Huawei Band 7, and MatePad SE. A wide range of products for everyone’s taste. It was finally announced when some of these products, the first Huawei Mate Xs 2, will appear in front of a global audience – on May 18th.
Although Huawei has not stated exactly which devices we can expect to present during its event, according to the GSM Arena portal, the stylized capital X more than clearly suggests that we expect the introduction of the Mate Xs 2. In addition to it, there should be a new smartwatch, Huawei Watch GT3 Pro, but even that information has not been confirmed yet.
Huawei Mate Xs 2 Display
As for the Huawei Mate Xs 2 mobile phone on folding, it brings a 7.8-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels when disassembled, and a 6.5-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2480 x 1176 pixels when folded. Like its predecessor, the screen of this predecessor folds from the outside.
Huawei Mate Xs 2 Camera
As for the camera system, this mobile device brings a main 50MP sensor, an ultra-wide-angle 13MP sensor, as well as an 8MP telephoto sensor that allows triple optical and 30x digital zoom.
Huawei Mate Xs 2 CPU, RAM, Storage & Battery
All of this will run the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 4G chipset (ah, those sanctions) with 8GB or 12GB of RAM, as well as 512GB of storage space. This device will have a battery with a capacity of 4,880mAh that supports fast charging of 66W.
Huawei also claims to have improved the folding mechanism itself, the so-called hinge, by using a double rotating system, which promises improved durability without an easily visible crease at the screen folding point. In addition, the screen itself should provide improved durability due to the new four-layer structure.
How much does it all cost? The price for the basic version will be around $1,500, while the most powerful version with 12GB of working memory should cost a little less than $2,000.
