Google finally brings the ability to delete the last 15 minutes of your search history in its Android app.
“We are currently introducing this feature to Google’s Android app and expect it to be available to anyone using the app in the next few weeks,” Google spokesman Ned Adriance told The Verge. “We continue to explore ways to transfer this useful feature to other platforms.”
This feature was first noticed by former XDA Developers editor-in-chief Mishaal Rahman, who said he received a tip that the feature was seemingly being introduced, and the Verge editor noticed the feature on his phone. To check and see if you have it, open the Google Android app, tap your profile picture, and look for “Delete last 15 minutes”.

It took some time for this feature to get to the Android app. Google first announced this feature on Google I / O in May, and it arrived on Google’s iOS app in July. At the time, Google said it would arrive on the Android version of the app later in 2021, but for some reason the company missed that deadline. It is unclear whether Google plans to transfer this feature to the desktop – in its announcement post in May, the company did not specify on which platforms it will be available, and in July Google only said that this feature comes in iOS and Android applications.
Google also offers an auto-delete tool in your search history that is three, 18, or 36 months old.
