Samsung resumes One UI 7 update worldwide

Samsung is set to resume the rollout of its One UI 7 update, just a day after pausing the release due to a critical bug. According to well-known tipster Ice Universe, the update will restart on April 15, 2025, beginning with the Galaxy S24 series. This follows Samsung’s recent statement that the rollout schedule was being revised “to ensure the best possible experience,” though the company did not initially specify the reason for the pause.

The suspension was reportedly triggered by a serious bug that affected the phone unlocking process, particularly on Exynos-powered Galaxy S24 devices in South Korea. There were also indications that the issue could impact Snapdragon models in the US and other regions, prompting Samsung to remove the update files from its servers globally.

Now, it appears Samsung has addressed the issue and is preparing to push out a fixed build. While it’s not yet clear if the update will resume worldwide immediately or in phases, users of the Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 are advised to check for updates, especially if they missed the initial rollout.

The One UI 7 update, based on Android 15, introduces a refreshed interface with new icons, smoother animations, a revamped quick settings panel, and enhanced lockscreen customization. It also brings improvements to Galaxy AI features, such as better writing assistance and productivity tools.

Samsung has not yet issued a formal announcement about the global rollout schedule, but the resumption is expected to start in key markets like South Korea, Europe, and the US, with other regions to follow soon after. Users are encouraged to stay tuned for further updates as the situation develops.
