There is almost half a year left until the expected presentation of the new line of iPhones, and for some time now various leakers have been throwing in semi-verified information about what it might look like.
The iPhone will get version 14 this fall, in about half a year. That’s the only thing for sure, and everything else that can be found in public at the moment is just rumors and speculations that may or may not be true. Below we will list a few pieces of information that most leakers and analysts find credible, as they have been confirmed from multiple sources.
First of all, the iPhone 14 series will differ from the 12 and 13 lines in that there will no longer be room for the smallest iPhone, the mini. This year’s offer will thus consist only of models with screen diagonals of 6.1 and 6.7 inches, and they should be divided, as before, into two classes: regular and Pro models. In the future, Apple will only offer the iPhone SE to fans of smaller mobile phones.
iPhone 14 – New phone, old chip?
The base model will thus become the iPhone 14, with a 6.1 “screen diagonal, and will have a larger twin in the 6.7” body, called the iPhone 14 Max. More expensive and advanced models will be the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, the same screen diagonals. The cameras will be upgraded on all models, but their number will most likely remain the same as before – two on the “regular” and three on the Pro models.

When it comes to processors, there is a possibility that Apple will decide on an unusual move. Some verified sources claim that the base iPhone 14 will have the same SoC, the A15 Bionic, known from the iPhone 13 series.

Another feature that could make a bigger difference between the base and Pro models is the look of the screen – namely, Apple in the Pro variant could finally throw out the “notch” and turn the “hole” in the screen. It should look like a “pill plus dot”, which is evident in the CAD drawings that have leaked to the public these days. It is a new look of the Pro model, while the basic look is not known yet – it is possible that Apple will use a simple “hole punch” solution for it.
And if some have speculated, or hoped, that this year Apple will be able to pack large camera shots and their lenses into the body of the phone in a way that doesn’t protrude from the back – that doesn’t seem to be the case. The protrusion with the cameras will not only get bigger but will probably be thicker than before.
