Google Messages is rolling out a significant update that expands the text input field beyond its previous four-line limit. This change allows users to view more of their message content while composing, enhancing the overall messaging experience.
Previously, the text box in Google Messages was restricted to displaying only four lines of text. This limitation often made it challenging for users to review longer messages or shared URLs without excessive scrolling. With the latest beta version (20250409_01_RC00), the text field now accommodates up to 14 lines, providing a more comprehensive view of the message before sending.
This update is currently available in the beta channel and is expected to roll out to the stable version in the near future. In addition to the expanded text field, Google has implemented design tweaks to align with Material You aesthetics, including increased padding around the text box and a larger send button for improved usability.
These enhancements aim to make composing messages in Google Messages more intuitive and user-friendly, addressing previous concerns about the limited visibility of longer texts.
