Google just made Gemini Live free for everyone using Android. The feature lets you use your phone’s camera or share your screen with Google’s Gemini AI assistant in real-time.
Before, this was only available for Pixel 9 and Galaxy S25 users who paid for a Gemini Advanced subscription. Now, anyone with an Android phone can use it.
Gemini Live works by pointing your camera at something—like a plant or product—to get instant information. Or, you can share your screen to have Gemini help compare products while shopping online.
To get started, open the Gemini app and select “Share screen with Live,” or open the Gemini Live fullscreen view and tap the camera button. Google suggests holding your phone steady to get better results.
This update is rolling out now and should reach everyone within the next few weeks. It follows Google’s recent move to give all users free access to Gemini 2.5 Pro (experimental).
