YouTube introduced transcription on its desktop website some time ago and has proven to be especially useful in long videos. It helps you find a specific part or extract your favorite quote by searching for an automatically generated video transcript.
In the last few days, some users have reported that a new feature has been implemented in their native Android application. Below the description of the video is a dedicated “Show Transcript” button. The transcript itself is quite similar to its desktop version, only it is adapted to the user interface of the mobile phone.
