Google has rolled out Veo 2, its new AI video generation model, inside the Gemini app. It’s only available to users with a Gemini Advanced subscription.
With Veo 2, you can create short videos—eight seconds long, in 720p, and landscape format—just by typing a description. The better and more specific your prompt, the more accurate the result. You can download the video or share it using a Gemini link. Each video also includes a watermark to show it was made with AI.
Google says Veo 2 creates more realistic video, including smoother character motion and lifelike scenes. It understands things like physics and how people move, which helps it produce results that look natural.
Veo 2 is included in Gemini Advanced, which costs $19.99 a month. There’s a monthly cap on how many videos you can make, and the app will warn you when you’re close to the limit. It supports all languages that Gemini does and is rolling out globally.
If you’re a Google One AI Premium subscriber, you can also use Veo 2 through a tool called Whisk Animate. It turns static images into short videos and builds on another tool, Whisk, that mixes images together with AI.
These features are part of Google’s broader push to bring more powerful AI tools to everyday users.
