As the foldable market becomes more competitive, Samsung will have to improve its offering if it wants to stay on top. According to several new reports, Samsung plans to expand the screen to Galaxy Z Fold 4, but it seems that the increase in screen dimensions will not be accompanied by an increase in battery capacity.

GalaxyClub has unveiled a safety listing showing that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will have a battery about the same size as the Fold 3. As usual, that battery will be divided into two cells, one with a 2002 mAh battery and the other with a 2268 mAh. This gives a total “rated” capacity of 4,275 mAh, but the typical capacity is likely to be advertised as 4,400 mAh. Fold 3 had the same nominal capacity and was advertised with 4400 mAh.

What does this mean for the battery on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4?

Well, it doesn’t look promising. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 did not prove to be a frugal phone, and the battery life proved to be very weak. But we have to take into account that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 had a Snapdragon 888 which proved to be much more efficient compared to the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

But the hopeful fact is that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 should arrive with an improved version of the chip, i.e. with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chip. Let’s hope they have solved the problem of efficiency and overheating as much as possible.

Namely, another recent report claims that LG will deliver a battery for the Galaxy Z Flip 4. So we can’t say anything for sure yet.

In addition, Ice Universe offered an illustration of what the internal display of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will look like. Specifically, the screen will have a wider aspect ratio than the Fold 3. Apparently, this was done to make the new Fold better suited for tablet apps.
