Huawei introduced EMUI 12 last summer and a significant number of phones have already received this upgrade. Now comes the great news for all users of Huawei’s much older model. The upgrade to EMUI 12 has started to be received by Huawei Mate 20 Lite.

Huawei P20 Lite was introduced in 2018. with Android 8 Oreo. The phone has received two major Android upgrades, those on Android 9 and Android 10. Currently, the phone is on Android 9 and EMUI 10. Although the Mate 20 Lite is not on Huawei’s list of devices that will receive EMUI 12, this phone started receiving today the mentioned upgrade. So, directly from EMUI 10, Huawei Mate 20 Lite goes to EMUI 12.

This is not a stable upgrade yet, but Huawei has started a beta testing program EMUI 12 for Mate 20 Lite with model number SNE-LX1. This beta is currently available in Spain. What’s really impressive is Huawei’s move to upgrade the four-year-old mid-ranger to the latest EMUI. A move is worthy of all praise.

Huawei made the same move with another phone. Namely, the beta testing of EMUI 12 has started on the Huawei P Smart 2019 phone. Just like the Mate 20 Lite, this phone is currently on EMUI 10 and will be upgraded directly from it to EMUI 12. Like the Mate 20 Lite, the P Smart 2019 first gets an upgrade in Spain.
