Apple will take center stage in the tech public on March 8 at its spring event where it will announce the long-awaited iPhone SE 3, iPad Air 5, and potentially some new Macs with an M2 chip. Apple’s “Peek performance” event will not focus on design but on interior features. While nothing can be said with certainty at this time, evidence of the M2 chip for the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and other Macs has been observed.

In his Power On newsletter, analyst Mark Gurman suggests that his “developer source” informed him in recent weeks that Apple is testing a new chip with an 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU on multiple Macs using the latest beta version of macOS. -a. The M1 Pro and M1 Max were similarly quoted before Apple officially unveiled the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models last year.

Apple has tested this new chip on machines running macOS 12.3 (which should be released in the next week or two and launch on new Macs) and future macOS 12.4, as well as macOS 13, which will be unveiled in June at WWDC in 2022.

The M2 chip for Macs will be the company’s first upgrade for its custom chips since its debut in November 2020. The M2 chip will have improved performance and will be relatively less power-hungry. Since the M1 chip has revolutionized the computer industry, we look forward to seeing what benefits the M2 chip will have on offer to users.
