According to Activision, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will be played on October 28, while more detailed information about it should come in the first days of June.
We’ll probably never know how much Activision will shell out for the marketing campaign of the new Call of Duty, but they started out pretty fierce. Namely, although the fresh video is just a teaser, a tanker was hired for the purpose of filming it, on the deck of which the character of Simon “Ghost” Riley, one of the favorite characters of the Modern Warfare series, can be seen from the air.
After the tanker sailed into the port of Long Beach, the drone discovered other members of Task Force 141, namely John Price, “Soap” MacTavish, Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, and Alejandro Vargas. Thus, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II was officially unveiled, as well as its release date scheduled for October 28th.
Another date can be seen in the video, June 6, when it is likely that we will find out additional details about this reboot and the direct successor to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare from 2019, which according to Activision is also the most successful edition of this long-running series.
Of course, the Infinity Ward team is working on it, and this year we should play a new version of the free battle royale FPS Call of Duty Warzone, whose predecessor was released in March 2020 and in the meantime, Raven Software development team upgraded it with many new features, including and those from Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War, and Call of Duty: Vanguard.
